The SGU Airport is served year round by Delta Airlines, connecting through Salt Lake City, Utah, and by United Airlines, connecting through Los Angeles, California, with SkyWest Airlines flying the Delta and United connections.

General Aviation

  • The new, replacement airport provides everything for general aviation that the old St. George airport did, with capacity for future expansion.
  • Anticipate approximately 70 hangar owners and 130 based aircraft will move to the new airport.
  • Will accommodate at least two Fixed Base Operations (FBO) and other aviation maintenance and service operators as well as CTAF/UNICOM communications and AWOS weather information.
  • Transition took place during 2010.
  • Designed to accommodate forecast general aviation fleet including small single-engine through large multi-engine corporate jet aircraft.

The new SGU Municipal Airport will continue to be served by Delta Connection operated by SkyWest connecting passengers to hundreds of destinations by way of Delta’s major western hub at Salt Lake International Airport (SLC).

SkyWest Airlines’ Delta Connection service echoes the airline’s maiden route more than 35 years ago before it entered the world of contract flying. In addition to being a necessary and important business route, the seven daily Salt Lake City round trips provide connecting passengers with Delta’s global service to more than 100 domestic and international destinations out of its Salt Lake City hub, with more than 300 Delta and Delta Connection daily departures. Additionally, SkyWest is the largest Delta Connection carrier at Salt Lake City International Airport, offering 231 daily departures to 94 cities in North America, Canada and Mexico.

Although SkyWest Airlines is the only current commercial air service provider in St. George, the new SGU municipal airport will be able to accommodate other commercial air service providers.

I am shortly to be a resident of st George. Iam very concerned that there are no direct flights from lax to sgu. I am sure I have flown that route before and into the new airport.

Is a service planned for that route in the near future.
